We ask for donations of:ġ) new or used musical instruments, including any from the standard wind band or symphonic band family *Ģ) other equipment, such as music stands, reeds, method books, solo and ensemble material, and other sheet music and/orģ) a personal financial donation or a sponsorship from your company that would be used to compensate instructors, purchase instruments and provide supplies.

Now I am focused on becoming a professional clarinetist and playing in a symphony.īecause many of our families struggle with securing basic necessities, we commit to providing all the resources, equipment, and supplies these children need to participate in quality music education at no cost to their families. We just need to sign them up for classes that make more sense, given that it’s 2013, not 1860, and that I don’t need a violin-playing daughter to cement my class status. Before participating in the West Point School of Music program I had unrealistic dreams like becoming a veterinarian even though I was afraid of even the tiniest spider. Being at West Point has given me the opportunity to do something productive with my life.
